Maple Contemporary 6 Panel Door with Raised Panels

The contemporary six panel door fits a home both equally well as both our raised panel and flat panel versions. It would normally give more of a contemporary feel as the flat panel version. As a painted door, with one of the woods that paints well, such as poplar, or in a harder wood, such as maple, the door could have a clean contemporary feel that your neighbors will rave about.

Our Contemporary 6 Panel Doors with Raised Panels is made up of three parts:

• Panels- Raised Panels float within the frame of the door, and are not glued to allow for expansion and contraction of the door panels. Raised Panel doors styles can have either horizontal or vertical panels.* All horizontal panels have horizontal wood grain.
• Stiles- The two long vertical pieces on each side of the door. One side is attached to the door jamb with hinges. The other side is bored for the door knob or lever, so that it can be latch to the jamb when shut.
• Rails- the horizontal and/or vertical pieces in the door that surround the panels and attach to the stiles.
